County Youth Forums (CYF) on Economic Empowerment and Inclusion is a strategic platform designed to mobilize youth business advocates (YBAs) and Young entrepreneurs (Yes) to advocate for a more conducive business environment. These forums serve as a bridge between youth-led enterprises and county-level policymakers to ensure that local regulations, taxes, and infrastructure support rather than hinder youth business growth.
The County Youth Forums (CYF) is a multi-sectoral, youth-led advocacy coalition that brings together aspiring and established young entrepreneurs, professional associations, and civil society. Its primary function is to champion Business Environment Reform (BER) by identifying systemic barriers—such as over-regulation, high licensing costs, and limited market access—and presenting evidence-based solutions to county and national governments.
OAY has successfully established CYF in Nairobi comprising 15 youth advocacy organisations and 10 youth enterprises with the support of SYV project co-funded by EU.
Our motto: the framework and rules must shift beyond "training end engaging youth" to "changing the rules" to make the local economy work for youth-led enterprises.
