OAY is part of the Our World Our Planet project, a Global North and Global South Youth for a more Sustainable and Equal World.
The project seeks to encourage intercultural dialogue with third countries not associated with the Erasmus Programme and increasing tolerance through online people-to-people interactions, building on digital, youth-friendly technologies. The general objective is achieved through a validated methodology based on a youth competencies’ empowerment process, considering the enhancement of youth’s life skills and non-cognitive competencies, besides the digital literacy, especially in the use of the internet and social media, the basis to improve civic participation.
The young participants are supported by WeWorld-GVC (Italy), WeWorld Kenya Foundation and Organization of African Youth – OAY (Kenya), WeWorld Tanzania and Young and Alive Initiative - YAAI (Tanzania), Südwind (Austria), and Environment Alert (Uganda).
The project aligns with the European Green Deal and the Paris Agreement. By emphasising that a just transition to sustainable development can only be achieved if women are actively involved in developing and implementing all aspects of climate change mitigation and adaptation,the project also aligns with the EU Gender Action Plan and its goal to promote a fair and inclusive green transition. The action also contributes to the achievement of the goals included in the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027.
Target groups:
Young people aged 18-30 years old.
University students (18-30 years old).
Young women (18-30 years old) Youth workers (educators, facilitators, CSOs staff, youth associations’ members).
Youth organizations' staff, principals, teachers, etc.
