OAYouth believes the post 2015 agenda/SDGs requires a fundamental shift from being just another ‘global political declaration’ to a new transformative and ambitious development framework that will provide national governments with a roadmap on measures to meaningfully improve young people’s quality of life.

There is minimal participation of young voices from Africa in the global debates. This is largely due to resource constraints – the majority of the most influential global debates on the post-2015 agenda are held in the global north, and there have simply not been enough resources available to ensure meaningful and regular participation of African youth voices.
